- Best Ways To Prevent Wrinkles In Your 20′s Or Younger -

Prevention is always better than cure and when it comes to aging, learning how to prevent wrinkles in your 20′s or younger is very very important.

As I’ve mentioned in another article on the causes of wrinkles, there are many reasons why we age quicker than we should. And if we don’t want those premature wrinkles on our skin, then we have to combat them as early as we can, even before our 20′s if possible.

Topic Guide

Listed below are some of the best ways to prevent wrinkles.

Sunscreen Guide

Stay Away From The Sun To Prevent Wrinkles In Your 20's

Get Away From The Sun – I know this is impossible. So just do the next best thing. Use sunscreen lotion EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.  This is the best thing you can do for your skin in your 20′s to prevent wrinkles. Find the best sunscreen lotion both for your face and body.  Daily application ensures that you protect your skin from the suns harmful uv rays. There’s a reason why Nicole Kidman is scared of the sun, ladies.

Sunscreen Guide:

  1. So you ask “What SPF should I use?” This really depends on your skin color. The lighter you are, the higher the SPF you should be using.Another factor to consider is your activity for the day. When you’re out and about or on a beach holiday for example use sunscreen with an SPF 30 or more. While on days when you don’t get too exposed to the sun, you can use a lesser SPF.
  2. When you’re not in direct exposure to the sun, it’s ok to apply the best sunscreen once a day. However, if you are outside, remember to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours.Sidenote: There are now once-a-day sunscreen that you can buy. They’re a bit more pricey but this means you don’t have to keep reapplying them.
  3. Use broad spectrum sunscreen. Find one that says UVA and UVB protection. This protects you both from premature wrinkles as well as the cancer-causing properties of the sun.
  4. Apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before you get exposed to the sun. This ensures that your skin properly absorbs the cream and that you maximize the sunscreen’s protective qualities.
  5. Don’t forget to use waterproof sunscreen  when you go swimming.

Stop Smoking Or Don’t Start – You may not notice the wrinkles right now but smoking is already doing some damage to your skin nonetheless. And in a few years, you’ll see those wrinkles beginning to form. Smoking is actually one of the major causes of premature wrinkles, so avoid it.

Regularly Use A Moisturizer – It’s best to start early when it comes to moisturizer. Rather than try to erase and reduce wrinkles when you’re older, it works so much better when you actually try to prevent these premature wrinkles   your 20′s or even younger. I have a friend who started using moisturizers in her teens and now at 38, she has the softest smoothest and most baby-looking face I’ve ever s<een.

A Little Exercise Can Go A Long Way

Exercise That Help Prevent Wrinkles –  This is probably something you don’t often hear about but regular exercise does give you glowing skin and prevents wrinkles as well. According to an article from Webmd.com, exercise gives your skin optimum conditions for collagen production and this in turn keeps wrinkles and fine lines at bay.

This exercise can include anything from aerobics to yoga or dancing.

Another kind of exercise that’s slowly gaining popularity and which many people swear  to be very effective to prevent eye wrinkles and face wrinkles is facial yoga or facial exercises.

Come to think of it. We exercise to tone and tighten our abs or thighs or chests. Isn’t it just as reasonable to do the same thing on our face? The face has one of the softest skin in our body as well as very delicate muscles so exercising them  is a very good idea indeed.

Get Enough Of Sleep – According to Dr.  Perricone, sleep is one of the most important things we can do for our skin. Whenever we sleep, our body releases what is called a youth hormone which builds us up rather than breaks our skin down. Have you noticed how during exams or a night out your skin looks a bit tired? That’s what lack of sleep can do.

Not enough sleep really does takes its toll on your skin as possible. The recommended number of sleeping hours is 8, but I have personally found that I do well enough with 7.

Drink At Least 8 Glasses Of Water Every Day – 8 glasses is the bare minimum. Water not just benefits your skin but your whole body as well. For your skin to be well moisturized, you need to drink as much water as possible.

Sidenote: There is a continuing debate on whether or not drinking water really benefits the skin or not. While we still don’t know what the verdict is on this one, I say that it is best to just drink enough water anyway. If your skin doesn’t benefit in any way at all, the rest of your body will. So ultimately, you still gain something.

What Causes Wrinkles On Face?

in Anti Aging Skin Care

- Factors Contributing To Wrinkles On Face -

What causes wrinkles on faceYou’re wondering what causes wrinkles on face? Well my dear friends, blame it all on Mr. Collagen (or is it Mrs. Collagen?). He’s pretty good when he’s at his prime making your skin all taut and smooth. But give him a bit of stress and he breaks down pretty fast giving you the dreaded wrinkles.

“What are you talking about?”

Well, collagen together with keratin are cell proteins that make your skin resilient and strong. When we’re young and collagen production is at its best, the skin is very flexible then and it easily bounces back when we do things such as overexposure to the sun or laugh. However, when collagen breaks down, the skin now has difficulty going back to its normal state and thereby causes wrinkles on face.

So what are these things that makes a collagen break down? Read on and find out.

Causes Of Wrinkles – The Things You Can’t Change

Aging – Unfortunately, wrinkles are something we can’t stop from happening. We humans are vulnerable like that. The older we get, the lesser collagen production is and therefore, the more susceptible our skin become. Sooner or later, age will catch up with us and wrinkles will form (unless of course you have the budget for botox injections and fillers every 3 months!).

Genetics – Oh. The genes! Yes. Blame it on your parents. Blame it on your parents parents. Apparently there is a wrinkle gene and as we all know, this one we can hardly run away from.

Causes Of Wrinkles That You Can Do Something About

And now the good news.

Ok. So the good news is that you CAN delay aging.  And believe me for many of us, our wrinkles come so much earlier than they actually need to be.

Know the top factors  that speed up aging and cause wrinkles on face make sure you don’t sabgotage yourself by exposing yourself to these factors.

Sun and WRinkles

Too much sun? Too much sunbathing? Watch Out! This is the main reason for wrinkles on face

Exposure to the Sun – This is your skin’s number 1 enemy hands down. I know we want to get the tanned look and who can escape the all seeing sun? But the sun is the number one reason for premature aging.

Stress  Can Cause Wrinkles – Any which way you look at it, stress does you no good. At the highest level, it’s not good for your heart and believe it or not, it gives you wrinkles too. Have you noticed how many world leaders after a few years in power start to age very quickly? Compare pictures of Tony Blair or Bill Clinton from when they were elected to about 4 years after, you’ll quickly notice the wrinkles. That’s stress in action right before your eyes.

Diet – Whatever we put in our mouth affects how we look outside. This is beauty from the inside out and something which some of us probably don’t even think about. But whatever nutrients/food we take more than affect our looks. Healthy body, healthy skin. Start eating lots of sugar and lots of junk food and it’s a no brainer that your skin will show off all that junk inside your body as well.

Water – There are some people who say that our body does not really need as much water as is encouraged by many. This may be true. But I’ve personally noticed that whenever I start drinking less water, my skin just doesn’t look that good either.

Lack Of Sleep – We all know that lack of sleep causes a lot of health problems and your skin is not immune to this either. There’s something about not getting enough sleep that affects the proper functioning of the cells in our body. And of course, when these cells normal functions are disrupted, collagen production becomes disrupted too… The effect? Bad skin.

Smoking And Wrinkles

Smoking - One Of The Top Things That Cause Wrinkles On Face

Smoking –  We’ve seen the big ads against smoking saying it causes wrinkles. You might even have noticed many smokers your age who actually look older than they are. This is because smoking does cause wrinkles. Smoking you see, with its hundreds of chemicals, damages collagen and elastin. And by now, you probably know already how that is the greatest contributing factor to wrinkles.

Air Pollution – It’s not just smoking. Air pollution has exactly the same effect on our bodies as well. All that smog, pollutants and dirt takes a toll on our skin and is a big contributing factor on why skin ages quicker than it should. City dwellers beware.

Note: I’m not quite sure in which category to put the two causes of wrinkles below. Things you can change or things you can’t?

Hormones – I know people talk about pregnancy glow all the time. All I could remember was just how much it actually affected my skin. Whenever those hormones kick in from pregnancy or menstrual period or from an abnormal hormonal production, expect your skin to show it as well either through acne, dry skin, spots  or wrinkles.

Facial Expressions – Our facial expressions either from smiling or frowning causes wrinkles on face. When we’re younger this doesn’t matter so much as our skin just bounces back. However, when we age a bit, the skins ability to bounce back becomes a bit more difficult and this results in wrinkles from laugh lines to the vertical lines between your eyebrows to the horizontal lines on your forehead.

Loreal Revitalift Night Cream

Loreal Revitalift Night Cream

This is the same as the day moisturizer above and is also getting positive reviews.

Both this and the Day cream are said to offer 24 hour moisturization. So I would think that one of these cream would suffice as a daily moisturizer. Highly rated by customers.

Loreal Deep Set Wrinkle Repair Night crème

Loreal Deep Set Wrinkle Repair Night Creme

What Is It: Here’s another product that promises to get rid of the appearance of deep set wrinkles in the forehead and makes skin looks and feels younger.

Loreal Revitalift Review: Again, there are mixed reviews on this product. Some say they have seen signifificant reduction of wrinkles while others have not seen any improvement at all..

Price: From $7

Deep Set Wrinkle Repair SPF Day Lotion

Same product as above but formulated for day use

Final Note On Loreal Reviews And The Use Of Loreal Revitalift Products

Do know that clinical studies with this crème as well as with  other Revitalift products do not show 100% effectiveness. Also, Loreal does sometimes recommend using not just one cream for  best results.

I’ve also noticed that many Loreal Revitalift reviews online have stopped using the product after only a few weeks. It took a long time for those wrinkles to form on your face, so it should take a long time to get rid if not reduce the appearance as well.

If you want to test any of the Loreal Revitalift products, it’s best to use them for at least 8 weeks (even more) to see if the “magic potion” really works.
